Young Indian badminton player Priyanshu Rajawat has advanced to the main draw of the Madrid Spain Masters. Priyanshu, age 21, advanced to the main draw of the competition after winning the men’s singles qualifying matches in Madrid, Spain.

60th globally Priyanshu defeated Uriel Arteaga, ranked No. 70 in the world, 21-16, 21-12 in the first men’s singles qualifying match. Priyanshu then defeated Frenchman Alex Lanier, ranked 53rd in the world, in a difficult second qualifying match. Priyanshu won this match that lasted over an hour with scores of 21-18, 18-21, 21-15 and advanced to the main draw. Priyanshu will play Danish opponent Viktor Svendsen in the first round.
