Tampa Bay sports fans have lots to cheer about. Since 2020, the Lightning and Buccaneers have won three league championships.
The Buccaneers’ new starting quarterback loves the local NHL team.
The Lightning tweeted a video of Buccaneers quarterback Baker Mayfield supporting them. The video was posted hours before Monday’s Eastern Conference First Round game against the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Mayfield said:
Let’s get up, let’s get loud,
Mayfield is clearly embracing Tampa Bay’s sports culture despite his brief time there. Fans like his community integration.
Tonight’s game at Amalie Arena will be electric as the Lightning seek their third Stanley Cup in four years. Lightning fans are even more excited with Mayfield supporting them.
Game 4 without Erik Cernak for Tampa Bay Lightning.
A crucial Tampa Bay Lightning defenseman will miss Game 4. Due to an upper-body ailment, defenseman Erik Cernak will not play. Michael Bunting’s elbow in Game 1 sidelined Cernak.
Cernak was injured throughout the season. His playoff absence is unfortunate. The Tampa Bay Lightning miss him on the ice. In 70 games, Cernak scored 16 points, blocked 100 shots, and hit 209 times.
Zach Bogosian has filled Cernak’s defense vacuum. He will face a difficult Maple Leafs club. Lightning defense is deep and talented. They should match the Maple Leafs.
The Tampa Bay Lightning will miss Cernak’s physicality. His strong hits and shot blocks have helped the squad all season. His absence will need a Lightning game plan change.
