Michael Jordan’s stardom allows him to awe anyone, including the finest players and biggest stars in the world. This included Dwayne Wade, who recalled the precise moment he first met Jordan.
What Wade said about Jordan is not unexpected. In addition, this is not the first time an all-time great NBA player and star has expressed similar sentiments.
Wade described his first encounter with Michael Jordan and even compared it to encountering an apparition. The interaction between the two individuals occurred after the 2003 NBA Draft. Wade and his cousin were out celebrating when they ran into Jordan.
Initially, Dwayne Wade believed he was joking. Wade was skeptical that Michael Jordan was still alive.
I think he’s playing games with me,” Wade recalled. “He’s like, trust me, they won’t let him in,” which Wade said only made him doubt the credibility more.
Wade elaborated on how he felt when he first met him:
We bee-lined out the club, right out the doors. It’s a slew of motorcycles. And Michael Jordan is sitting right there on one of the motorcycles. It was like seeing a ghost. And I ran right up to him. And he said, he was like, ‘I just want to come and show you some love.’ That was my first time meeting Michael Jordan
Wade then stated that Jordan was simply riding a motorcycle while appearing like a star:
Coolest experience ever, he was sitting on a motorcycle looking cool as sh–.
This is probably not the last time we’ll hear someone refer to Michael Jordan in this manner. He is arguably the finest player in the history of the sport, so seeing him means a great deal to even the other elite athletes.
Even stranger is the fact that Dwayne Wade is regarded as one of the greatest NBA players of all time. Still, most individuals have acknowledged that meeting Michael Jordan was an extraordinary experience.
