The game of hockey includes the taking of penalties. Some of them, like cutting or hooking, are regarded to be minor penalties, and the person who committed them must spend two minutes in the penalty box as a consequence. In the meanwhile, their squad competes with one player fewer than normal. Some infractions, such as engaging in violent conduct, result in a severe penalty and a penalty box time penalty of four minutes.
So what exactly takes place once a goalkeeper is called for a penalty?
Nonetheless, the goaltender is allowed to remain on the rink while another member of the team is required to serve their time off the ice. The goaltender did not receive what they deserved, while an innocent player had to shoulder the responsibility for the actions of another player. Even though it’s not an exact comparison, I see a lot of similarities between what happened here and what Jesus accomplished for his people on the cross.
Sin is something that God cannot tolerate because of His perfect holiness, yet the fact of the matter is that we have all sinned in some capacity or another. We are all guilty of doing wrong. According to what the Bible teaches, even our hearts have been irreparably tainted by sin and are in desperate need of being made whole again.
And that is just what the Father did when He sent His Holy Son into the world. Jesus took upon Himself the sins of all of His people, both those who have ever lived and those who will ever live, paid the penalty of death on the cross for those sins, and then three days later rose again, victorious over sin and death, and bestowing eternal life upon those whom He had saved. This is analogous to a hockey player serving a penalty for the goalie.
The most incredible thing about it is that He did it voluntarily out of the tremendous love that He has for you. The Good News, often known as the Gospel, is the most incredible tale that has ever been told. And we have access to it via our trust in Him.
Everyone who places their faith in Him is set free from the burden of sin’s guilt, and they are also given the freedom to walk joyfully in obedience to our Lord and Savior. Be glad that such a magnificent world exists right now.
