As a follow-up to their meeting in Qatar a week ago, FIFA President Gianni Infantino and Football Association of Indonesia (PSSI) President Erick Thohir got together in Paris to talk about the next steps that will be taken in the transformation of Indonesian football. The meeting took place in Paris.
Paris hosts FIFA President and PSSI President.
The opportunity was taken by President Thohir to present the first draft of the strategic plan for Indonesian football, which covers all of the various aspects of the game from the grassroots level all the way up to the professional level and includes all of the areas identified as requiring immediate improvement.
In addition to that, he disclosed the intentions and plans of the administration of President Joko Widodo to make investments in football facilities located all across the nation.
Indonesia will also invest in local football infrastructure.
The President of FIFA explained that, as a result of the meeting that took place the previous week, the FIFA Administration had, as a sanction, provisionally recommended a restriction on the use of FIFA Forward funds until further notice.
The administration will now carefully evaluate the strategic plan that was presented today before deciding whether or not to lift this sanction. In the same breath, he underlined FIFA’s entire commitment to supporting PSSI in this crucial reform process and stated that the organization will offer the necessary help wherever it was necessary.
