The Punjab Kings (PBKS) is one of the 2023 Indian Premier League (IPL) clubs. The team led by Shikhar Dhawan has won both of their current competition matches. They began their IPL 2023 campaign with a seven-run DLS victory over Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), followed by a five-run victory over last season’s runners-up, Rajasthan Royals (RR).
PBKS began their campaign without two of their most important players. Kagiso Rabada, a South African sprinter, is one of the competitors. However, PBKS have now strengthened their squad with the addition of the Proteas fast bowler. The 27-year-old will play for the Punjab franchise for the second consecutive IPL season.
Upon the advent of Rabada, PBKS tweeted a brief video of himself performing a signature motion from the Allu Arjun film Pushpa: The Rise. The franchise accompanied the post with the caption “Flower not, fire is KG.”
Next week, Liam Livingstone is anticipated to join the PBKS squad.
Liam Livingstone, an English all-rounder, was the other player to miss PBKS’s first two matches. He has not yet joined the PBKS squad, as he reportedly has not received a fitness certificate from the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) for a December 2022 injury.
On Sunday, April 9, the Punjab Kings will face the 2016 IPL champions Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Uppal, Hyderabad.
Notably, SRH has not won a single match so far this season. They began their season with a 72-run loss against Rajasthan, spearheaded by Sanju Samson. After that, they were defeated by the Lucknow Super Giants by five wickets (LSG). Aiden Markram and company will compete against PBKS for their first victory of the season in order to remain in the quarterfinal race.
