Top-order batsman Kamil Pooran will make his TT Red Force debut in round four of the West Indies Four-Day Championships against Barbados Pride at Queen’s Park Oval, St Clair, on Wednesday at 10 am.
Kamil Pooran will make his TT Red Force debut
Pooran has performed well in the TT Cricket Board Premiership 1 for Central Sports. 200 not out and a century this season.
He told Newsday he wanted to impress Red Force selectors led by head coach David Furlonge after hitting a double century.
“This (score) is what I have been hoping for, but I will still attempt to put more scores on the board because I don’t want to play club cricket for the rest of my life,” Pooran added. I want top-level play. Hoping this score gets noticed and I receive a call.”
Pooran replaced starter Kjorn Ottley in the Pride match. On Sunday, Ottley was injured and replaced.
After playing two Tests against South Africa, West Indies wicket-keeper Joshua Da Silva returned to the team. Anderson Phillip has returned to the 13-man squad.
Jeremy Solozano, Keagan Simmons, and medium-pacer Justin Manick, who debuted against Guyana Harpy Eagles in round three, were dropped.
Red Force, sixth in the six-team rankings, fell to Harpy Eagles at Tarouba by 143 runs.
